RCHC Internal Evaluation

The Regional Center for Healthy Communities (Metrowest) is very excited to have conducted an evaluation of our efforts for the first time in 2009.

For this initial evaluation we looked at satisfaction with our services through interviews with coordinators of coalitions and community health network areas (CHNAs) following the completion of specific activities led by the Regional Center and at the end of the fiscal year.  We shared these results with our newly formed Community Advisory Board and used their feedback and guidance to develop action steps for the coming year.

If you are curious to see our results or would like more information on the process we used, please contact lcody@healthier-communities.org

About the RCHC

The mission of the Regional Center for Healthy
Communities (Metrowest) is to help communities
realize their vision for a healthier place to live.

The Regional Center for Healthy Communities (Metrowest), or RCHC, serves the 60 communities that make up the Metrowest Boston region. The RCHC promotes partnership among regional and local public health leaders and providers and collaborates with communities to promote health and reduce the use and risks associated with alcohol and other drugs.

The RCHC is committed to conducting all of our work with cultural humility.  Five years ago we embarked on a cultural awareness initiative, and through the years it has informed our thinking about how we build our library collection, shape our technical assistance and training, guide our recruitment of new staff, and influence our understanding of the communities with whom we work.  As a result, we are invested in fostering strong youth-adult partnerships, strengthening the presence of underrepresented communities in local coalitions and networks, co-facilitating trainings with a variety of community partners and keeping up-to-date on best practices in cultural competency, cultural humility, and the reduction of health disparities.  Please join us in our efforts to foster an equitable approach to prevention and health promotion.

Some of the services we offer include:

  • Free public health resource library
  • Free trainings based on local prevention needs
  • Meeting space for up to 25 people
  • Templates and tools to help facilitate your group’s work
  • Connection to other groups doing similar work
  • Internship and youth leadership opportunities
