SAFE-MA (Supporting an Alcohol Ad Free Environment – formerly the MBTAA) is looking for youth from across the state to join the effort to pass a bill banning alcohol ads on state property.  For information on how to get involved, contact Liz Parsons at sbyouthassets@gmail.com.  

 

The Cambridge Prevention Coalition will be holding a focus group for parents of middle school children in Cambridge to provide feedback on their upcoming youth access to alcohol campaign on August 25 from 6:00-7:30 PM.  For more information, please contact mwestfall@challiance.org or call 617.665.3832.

Cambridge Cares About AIDS and the Cambridge YWCA will be holding HIV Today programs beginning September 9 and continuing on the first Wednesday of every month until December from 1-3 PM at the YWCA, 7 Temple St in Cambridge.  For more information on topics and registering, see the attached flier called <HIV Today Flier>. 

The MA Department of Public Health and the Central MA Center for Healthy Communities will hold a free training on using the state MassCHIP database to find useful local health data on September 10 from 9:45-11:30 in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at Montachusett Home Care Corp., 680 Mechanic St., Leominster.  Space is limited so please contact the Central MA Center to reserve your spot by calling 508-438-0515.   

OPEN (Overdose Prevention and Education Network) in Cambridge will host a policy night including topics such as “Good Samaritan” legislation, diversion, and CORI reform on September 16 from 5:30-7:30.  For more details, contact Mary Amato at mamato@cambridgema.gov
