In order to make the Regional Center Library more accessible, we will have extended hours on Tuesdays until 7 PM on a trial basis throughout the summer.  Please visit us during our regular hours Monday through Friday 9-5 and our new hours Tuesdays until 7 PM. 

Community News

South Shore Hospital will hold a Car Seat Safety Checkpoint Day on June 13 from 10-1 at South Shore Hospital’s Outpatient Services building, 780 Main St in South Weymouth. 

AIDS Action Committee will hold a Town Hall Meeting on HIV testing on June 24 from 12:30-2:30 at 294 Washington St in Boston.  For more information or to RSVP contact Christine Jones at cjones@aac.org or at 617-450-1241.

Conferences/Trainings

The Department of Public Health will hold the Statewide Youth Violence Prevention Conference on Safety in Numbers: The Power of Prevention and Partnerships for at-risk youth on June 12 from 8:00-4:30 at the Crowne Plaza in Worcester.  For more information and to register contact Sylvia.Jackson@state.ma.us

Planning for the Ounce of Prevention Conference is well underway and conference organizers are seeking proposals for workshops.  For complete information, see the attached document called <Call for Workshop Proposals>.  

Registration for the Healthy Communities Conference on June 17 from 10-2:30 at the Hoagland-Pincus conference center is now open.  Please use the attached form called <Healthy Communities Registration>. 

The Access Project is co-hosting a forum on Addressing Medical Debt: Developing Best Practices for Providers and Patients that will address the new Attorney General’s Community Benefits Guidelines on June 18 from 8:00-12:00 at the Hoagland-Pincus Conference Center in Shrewsbury.  For more information, contact marcy.ravech@bcbsma.com

The Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery and Mental Health and Substance Abuse Corporations of Massachusetts are offering a one-day training on Alcohol and Other Drug Advocacy Leadership.  There will be three held throughout the state and in Metrowest, it will be held on June 19 from 9-4 at Brandeis University in Waltham.  For more information and to register, please see the attached document called <Advocacy Training>.
